About Us
New Grass is a post-hardcore trio from Chicago, IL, USA.
New Grass began as Lucio's solo project, leveraging some unused riffs that were intended for his college band, Guillemet, back in 2011-2013. Bryan was also in Guillemet. Lucio self-published New Grass, Fake Drums in 2015.
In 2020, Zegema Beach Records asked New Grass to release Fake Drums. Lucio included new material, which became the December 2021 release, a double EP 12" Scordatura Perforations.
Since 2022, New Grass is now a live trio, with Bryan on drums and Luke on bass. We are based in Chicago, IL, USA, and have recorded our third EP, for the first time as a full band, at Electrical Audio with Seth Engel. We hope to release it soon in 2025.
